What a great day! The sun shone – despite gloomy predictions of rain – for another successful fair on the green. We had our usual spot next to the WI with the cakes (a brilliant move) and the shade – perfect! We were wowed by the record number of balloons that we gave out this year in so little time. We had a huge helium gas canister this year for at least 500 large balloons – it ran out by 2.30pm!
We resorted to old fashioned puff with helping hands from the youngest members of Daisylets – Zac & Ned (& the odd friend!), and gave away another 150 at least – phew! – we are all dizzy now! The lack of ‘floaty’ gas didn’t not put off the youngest residents of East Dulwich desperate for a lovely bright pink balloon. That’s almost three times the amount we gave away in 2008, which proves East Dulwich – and the Goose Green fair are booming and a great place to live

Many hundreds of pink balloons were seen out and about on the day being given away to local children – everyone loves a pink balloon – especially if it has a daisy on it and floats!
